Rizal Governor Nini Ynares, together with Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar and other guests lead the groundbreaking ceremony of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) in Masinag, Antipolo City. The Masinag and Emerald stations are designed to accommodate an additonal 80,000 passengers daily and will significantly reduce travel time from Manila to Masinag. The P9.5 billion LRT-2 East Extension Project is expected to be operational by early 2019.
