Sta. Rosa City, Laguna – Rizal student-athletes continued its sports supremacy over its CALABARZON rivals by dominating the Division and Cluster Categories for both elementary and secondary levels in the recently-concluded 2019 Regional Sports Competition (formerly Southern Tagalog CALABARZON Athletic Association (STCAA) in this city.
For an unprecedented eight consecutive years, Rizal in a run-away fashion, emerged as Over-All Champion for both Division and Cluster Categories by hauling 116 gold, 85 silver, and 78 bronze for a total of 279 medals. The province is way ahead of Dasmariñas and Laguna in the Division Category, and by Laguna and Cavite in the Cluster Category.
Gov. Nini Ynares, elated over the 8-peat achievement of Rizal, congratulated all the athlete-delegates, including teachers and coaches who brought pride and honor to the province in this annual regional sports meet. Customary to the winning tradition, all student-athletes who won medals will be feted into a get-together and will be awarded with cash incentives and plaque of appreciation.
